From surviving to performing

On making decisions under uncertainty, ownership and resilience.

‍

What do you do when circumstances suddenly change and you don’t know how things will turn out? For Els Visser, that question became a reality during a shipwreck off the coast of Indonesia. She swam for hours to survive. The most important lesson wasn’t that you can control everything, but that you can always choose where to direct your attention and energy.

‍

‍

That experience laid an important foundation for her later career as a professional triathlete.

‍

In elite sport, too, she constantly had to make decisions under pressure, deal with setbacks and take responsibility for her actions. It’s often how you respond to circumstances that determines your next step.

‍

‍

In this personal and energetic session, Els connects her experiences to the challenges faced by people and teams in organisations.

‍

  • How do you make decisions without having all the information?
  • How do you keep moving forward when plans change?
  • Where should you take ownership?
  • And what should you let go of?

‍

‍

Through relatable lessons and practical reflection questions, Els invites participants to leave feeling inspired and ready to make more deliberate choices.
